New, unworn gorgeous hand carved First Nations pendant featuring a hummingbird, handcrafted by Norman Seaweed.
Norman Seaweed was born on February 9, 1951 in Alert Bay, a small fishing village off the northeastern coast of Vancouver Island. This area is representative of the Kwagiulth Nation, a tribe that inhabits mainly the southern region of the province. His mother’s family is from the Village Island and his father’s family is from Turnour Island. Norman was trained in jewellery carving by Lloyd Wadhams in 1978. He was always interested in drawing, then moved into wood carving and from there, into silver and gold. Normans brothers Alfred, Paddy, and Rodney are all silver carvers.
The pendant is 1” square and hangs from a heavy sterling silver box chain that is 18” long.
