OBJECTS OF DEVOTION AVE MARIA Monogram PENDANT MEDAL~ANTIQUE

This is a fine antique pendant signed C.Lamond and Fils, representing the Virgin Mary's monogram - the intertwined initials AM for Ave Maria. This medal is not marked for metal content, likely made out of coin silver, and suspended from a bar pin, it has a hanging length of 4 cm. The words Ave Maria were spoken by the Archangel Gabriel at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary. They formed the opening phrase of the Angelic Salutation.
