OBO Mid-Century White Murano Glass Table Lamp by Barovier & Toso, Italy 1970's

This exclusive pair of urn shaped table lamps was hand crafted by Barovier & Toso, one of the oldest family businesses in the world. Founded in 1295 and based in Murano, Italy, the company is synonymous with world-renowned Venetian glass design. The mouth-blown lamps are made from milky white glass with some darker swirls giving them an almost marble like appearance which is accentuated by the black and gold-speckled trims. This handmade lamp is in good condition These lamps come with their original European 2-pin plug and are designed for standard E27 light bulbs. As the glass is mouth-blown there are minor variations in the sizes: Lamp: Height: 30cm Diameter top: 28cm Diameter bottom: 20cm On Primavera: In 1930 the critically acclaimed Ercole Barovier produced his award-winning “Primavera” series: "The Primavera series ... is distinguished by a milky white 'craquelé' glass with the addition of black or blue pasta vitrea trim ("opaque colored glass whose consistency is made to appear like ceramic") and decoration. There was a very limited production of this series due to the fact that it was a result of a glass mixture obtained accidentally so it could never be replicated."
