"OLD INDIAN TRAILS OF THE CANADIAN ROCKIES" ~ Being Incidents of Camp and Trail Life, Covering Two Years' Exploration Through the Rocky Mountains of Canada
by: Mary T. S. Schaffer
Overcoming the limited expectations of women at the turn of the 19th Century in order to follow her dreams, this is her story of the Jasper & Banff expeditions of 1907 & 1908.
Full of daring adventure and romantic depictions of camp life, set against the grand backdrop of Canada's mountain landscapes, the book introduces readers to various characters from the annals of Canadian mountaineering history, as well as details of Native American life in the mountains. Author is credited with being the first non-indigenous woman to see Maligne Lake and many other sites.
