Occupied Japan- Royal Red w Pink Roses- Tea Cup & Saucer- Vintage Post War China

A rare and beautiful collectible teacup and saucer set marked "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN." This striking set features a heavy maroon or burnt umber exterior on the cup and the center of the saucer. The cup is footed, giving it an elegant, lifted profile. The interior of the cup and the rim of the saucer are decorated with an intricate heavy gold filigree over an ivory background, accented with hand-painted pink and purple roses. This set is a stunning example of post-war Japanese export artistry. Era: 1947–1952 (Identified by the "Occupied Japan" backstamp).
