Orange and Red Statement necklace with seeds from the artists' home of Colombia

I bought this at a Latin Festival many years ago from an Artisan with so many beautiful pieces. I can only recall that the beads are all actually seeds or parts of seeds of some fruits native to Colombia. This one is long and can be folded to be worn shorter, the orange and reddish seeds are linked together with some type of rope (cannot recall what its made of, could be cotton?).
