Original painting of it’s not behind you

This painting is trying to exude the feeling of being watched. We feel as as if someone is behind us watching us at all times. We feel it but we don’t look. Why is that? Aren’t we curious to see, but are we scared to see. Our belief becomes disbelief in the matter of seconds and continue on with our wretched or pleasant full lives.
