Black and white frontispiece with tissue guard. Black & white illustrations on plates. 738 pages. Sewn binding. Ouida is the pseudonym of Marie Louise de la Ramee. NOT ex-library. Binding generally intact, but pulled at the front hinge. Spine ends bumped and rounded, with small tears at the edges. The gilding at the spines is about half lost, but titles are all visible as they are stamped. Cover gilding is all intact but suffers from variation in brightness in vertical sections typical of this edition. Covers have light surface and edge wear. Pages lightly tanned at periphery but still supple. Inscription Some water stains. Slight must smell.
