A pair of JB Hirsch's black metal bookends made in the 1930s during the art-deco era. The pair are images of a woman curtsying; a note placed with the figures said that they are called "Pleased to Meet You." They are made of French bronze (an alloy), Ivorine (a celluloid, used for the faces) and stand atop a marble base. One figure has moderate wear but the other is missing a piece of her face and has noticeable chips out of the paint. They stand 6 1/8" tall, are 3 1/2" wide and the base is 2 1/2" in diameter.
