Pair of Vintage Square MOP Button Studs

This pair of vintage button studs is made of a gold tone metal and has a spring-loaded stick back. I'm sure there's a proper name for it, I just don't know it. The fronts of the studs each feature a grey square of mother of pearl with a thin black border. These pieces likely came from a larger set but are now just a pair. There is normal wear throughout, including what looks like wear in the tone in the center of the squares. The pieces are both still wearable, limited only by the number in the set.
