Peter Ragee is a distinguished Inuit artist from Cape Dorset (now Kinngait), Nunavut, born on March 28, 1955.
Raised by his parents, Sakkeassie and Evalourjuk, he was deeply influenced by his father, a notable carver, from whom he learned about Inuit art from a young age.
Ragee's artistic repertoire encompasses prints, drawings, and carvings. His works often depict his experiences on the land and Inuit culture, rendered with meticulous detail and vivid colors. His style is both spiritual and contemporary, reflecting the rich traditions and evolving narratives of the Inuit people.
It’s wrapped in plastic as I don’t want to damage it. I intended to frame it but I’ve downsized and don’t have enough wall space.

I have a small kennel of sled dogs that I mush and train. This pic made me sad. The good mushers don’t hurt their dogs and certainly don’t beat them. Mine sleep in my bedroom and lay at my feet while I work from home. Trust and teamwork are paramount in mushing. My dogs know how committed I am to their care. In return, my dogs give me their best.
