Phantom of the Opera & Silent Film Actress Mary Philbin 8 x 10 Colored Photo Estate sale find. This estate I purchased a large amount of 8 X 10 photos that were collected by her Grandmother in the 40's when she went to Hollywood and was trying to become an actress. Her father begged her to come home so she did. While she lived there she accumulated many pieces of ephemera from the era. This looks exactly like the original photograph but someone has colored it, making it more interesting. You can see the ink spread out on the white border and she had pinned it on her wall so there are pin marks on the corners. Mary Philbin starred with Lon Chaney Jr. in the 1925 version of Phantom of the Opera - lived 1902 - 1993. Gently pre-owned in very good condition.
