As such, Little Otavalo uses alpaca wool because of its elegant fibers, which are warmer, lighter, and stronger than cashmere. Do you find standard wool scarves to be scratchy? Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic, which makes it the opposite of itchy — rather, alpaca wool feels soft and warm against the skin.
