Picturesque India Illustrated Victorian Era Travel Guide for Brits DAMAGED Caine

Vintage, possibly antique, edition of Picturesque India by W.S. Caine. Has an author note of 1898. Date of publication for this volume is not marked. Published by Rutledge. Time period of writing is the Victorian Era. Book is in VERY POOR CONDITION. Cover is extensively damaged. It has: marks, stains, bubbling to cloth cover, rounding/curving to ends and corners, scartches, scuffs and colour fade. Pages have yellowing and foxing (brown spots). Gold edging has faded and is scratched. ***Book has split inner joints, as witnessed by the paper of the endsheets on the inside of the cover, where the board attaches to the textblock. Same damage to back of cover and end sheet. Please see photos 8, 9 and 10. *** The volume is peppered with gorgeous illustrations, which would be great for repurposing.
