@manitoba1 Hi there, to the best of my knowledge they are not coming apart. The "stitching" on these sandals seems to be decorative. The sandals are held together by the plastic straps alone ( no stitching or glue) and there doesn't seem to be any defect in those. When I tug on the straps they are solid. I took a picture of the area I think you are referring to and added it to the listing ( one of the left shoe and one of the right) so you can get a better look.
