"This book provides an introduction to a particularly attractive craft. Pleated paper folding consists in folding and opening out pleated strips of paper, so as to make a variety of designs: the pleated strips can be formed into various fans - the flick fan, the tree fan, the rosette fan, and many others - and these fans can be combined to make birds and animals such as an owl, a dog, and a fish. By cutting the pleated strips a further range of figures can be formed and the adventures of such characters as Hiawatha, and The Owl and the Pussycat can be told in a series of designs.
With the aid of detailed diagrams the author explains simply and clearly how to clear out of pleated paper folding and how to make it the basis of a show the pattern is included for each routine so that it can be learned with the actions."
