I used to host and run a lot of teleconference meetings up until around 2010, and until I picked up this Polycom Soundstation in 2003, we constantly experienced sound problems. The Soundstation fixed all of that, and from that day forward, our phone meetings were a breeze.
Now, most people use Zoom or FaceTime; however, if you (or someone you know) live somewhere where internet & cell service are sketchy, and analog land lines are the most reliable method, this is the ultimate speakerphone. Sound is clear & audible, even 10ft from the microphone, so you never have to worry about carting a cordless phone around, and you can do other activities while chatting with your friends. Or you could actually use it for phone conferencing, which is exactly what it's designed for.
This unit has been in storage for the past 12 years but still powers up with the ready tone. I no longer have a landline, so I can't test that part, but it worked perfectly right up until the day I stopped needing it. The wall unit and attached phone cable are included, which is all you need for operation, but I no longer have the original packaging or user manual. If I can find a pdf manual online I'll print it out and include it, but operation for conference calls is pretty straightforward, same as any other analog phone - this one just has vastly better speakers and microphone.
These units were solidly built for commercial use, so apart from some dust & minor scuffs, it's in excellent condition.
