A bit of information. Kahla is a small town in the middle of the Saale valley, south of Jena. Porcelain lovers know it thanks to the factory of Christian Eckard, who turned the name of the city into a brand. The assortment of this small manufactory, founded in 1844, consisted of doll heads, smoking pipes, and cups. Having started its history as a small manufactory with 20 employees, by the mid-1910s the company became one of the largest manufacturers of thin-walled ceramics in the country.
