Pre War Butterfly Coverlet

This one stumped me and my team for a good long while. This has all the markers of a 1930/40s coverlet, but it has been reinforced over the years around the edge with a nylon chain stitch which isn’t standard from that time obviously… but also, its size is confusing, it’s 96” long by 88”, which would typically be an oversized queen but it could also work for a standard king now, if used as a top cover (not to cover the pillows). It’s machine washable and dryer friendly. It’s likely cotton/rayon. It’s very soft and has gone through many soaks to bring it back to life. It’s pristine and ready to be enjoyed. It’s fully reversible, the purple side would look incredible styled with greens and plants and moody vibes. The cream side would work just about anywhere. This is amazing for the bed, the couch, for the cabin. This would make an amazing gift for the butterfly lover. If cared for, this material will last another hundred years.
