Prewar Silk Blend Floral Orange Throw Blanket

This one is out of my personal collection, and I haven’t taken the time to do too much with it as I like them as is. This is as soft and flexible as butter, making it perfect for the couch, bedroom, or guest bed. Beautiful on the end of the bed as an accent which is how I had it. It’s been pressed, and the fringe is in exceptional condition for its age. The florals are just out of this world. It also shows you how things ebb and flow decades later as we are now in the 3rd era of these rounded florals hitting so hard. Many would think this is 1970s but was actually made many decades prior. Such a special piece of history. There are a few holes isolated to one area of the blanket, it looks like it may have gotten caught on something in its time, but it doesn’t effect the overall romance of this piece for me. It’s truly a special piece. The fringe has just the lightest tinge of peach in it. This was likely made in France, but I cannot confirm for certain, but that is where it was purchased by the original collector sometime in the 1960s she thinks. I went on to purchase this from her and it’s been well cared for. I would suggest leaving it as so, however if you’re a skilled seamstress, the end with no fringe could be trimmed to cut out flowers to make proper patches for the damaged bits, but I haven’t gone to this trouble yet as I have so many other projects lol
