...hand made bed coverlet A big orange wool blanket, throw or coverlet - this throw blanket has been made from 4 loomed parts of 22 - 22.5 inches wide, which were sewn together by hand. Possibly American although the pattern looks Italian. The color is most likely from walnut shell dye. The pattern runs from one piece to the next without any gaps so it must have been decorated after it was put together. The top and bottom edges are rolled and again, hand sewn. It is in good vintage condition with some small damages due to age, some repairs to the hand sewing (different colour thread) and a few small dark spots to the back, which look to be the same colour as the print work to the front and a few lighter stains to the back and front.
