Primrose Plated Brass and Crystal Swan, Silver, Vintage, Salt Cellar, Jewelry

Primrose electroplated (EP) Brass Crystal Swan. These swans were originally used as salt cellars in the early 1900's before salt and pepper shakers were invented. The silver finished is achieved by using an electric current to apply the thin layer of silver onto the brass carving. This method dates back into the late 1800's. This swan measures approximately 5" tall by 5.5" deep. It is in very good vintage condition with minor wear as expected for an item of this age. Today, this gorgeous swan could be used to store small jewellery pieces taken off at bedtime or as an accent decor piece in a vignette or on a bookshelf.
