"Protection and Light"
A dreamcatcher made from a braid of purple-dyed pine needles. About 12" tall overall counting ties and feathers. Depth in space is roughly 5" wide by 4" deep. I used cotton cord for the webbing, crackle black agate beads, and two turkey feathers. Hangs from a cotton tie.
The Ojibwe story of the dreamcatcher says that the webbing captures bad dreams and nightmares, while the hole in the center allows the good dreams to pass through and filter down through the feathers to the dreamer below.
The rare Royal Palm turkey feathers were humanely gathered (naturally shed) from a pet bird. :) Turkey medicine is about abundance.
Black agate is a grounding, protective stone.
I am NOT a Federally-enrolled tribal member, however there is some Choctaw on my grandmother's side of the family, and I have been making dreamcatchers since I was a child. :)
