RARE Authentic Vintage 1960s DERU Germany Leather Frog MCM Origami Stamped VGC

RARE Vintage 1960s DERU leather frog DERU is known for their origami-like animals each made from a single sheet of leather which is folded, crimped, and sewn into shape Signed with the original vintage DERU stamp - the recent DERU reproductions have a modernized stamp in a slightly different font and, while beautiful, sell for (and are worth) much less This frog can balance back on its haunches with its front feet in the air, or sit slightly tilted forward with his hands on the ground and his butt slightly raised - displays nicely either way These original DERU animals are highly collectible and the frog is quite rare, and this piece does not disappoint. It's in very good condition all around with no damage and no stains/marks. It smells like leather (as it should) and not musty or moldy, and comes from a non-smoking home. The leather is quite firm which has helped it survive without any tearing for 60 years. Measures approximately 3.5 inches long, 2.25 inches tall, and 2.25 inches deep
