RARE Birkenstock x Central Saint Martins, Rothschild, Bukarest Leather Sandals

Birkenstock’s partnership with London fashion institution Central Saint Martins launched a two-year project with the BA Fashion History & Theory and MA Fashion courses and these rare sandals are one of the winning entries and Birkenstock’s first-ever Archive style. Over a year of product development, four of the student-designed entries qualified for serial production. Each design has the student’s name embossed in the iconic Birkenstock footbed. This winning pair is by CSM student Alecsander Rothschild and entitled the Bukarest! Inspired by Brancusi’s contrasting use of different materials and textures Rothschild designed the shiny silver leather, ankle strap Birkenstock. There were originally white removable shields on the sandals, but these are not included. ( As seen in last pic ) Hand made in Germany Leather metallic outer Smooth nappa leather wrapped footbed Smooth nappa leather footbed Silver embossed Designer Name in the heelcup Leather soles with non-slip heel treads and heel base Super strong velcro closures Please examine the photos for the condition of the leather and please feel free to ask questions. In very good condition, minor water marks on the right footbed and left foot, inner side near the toe strap has scuffing.
