RARE Grey City nude leather Chloe platform cage sandals, EU41, NWOB

Grey City was founded in Seattle in 2013, and their designs immediately got the attention of major retailers in the US. Still not exactly mainstream, though - while their current offerings are a little more low-key and practical, I miss their earlier years when they produced some truly excellent Y2K and 70s-inspired towering platforms. I acquired this pair of fabulous Chloe platforms in 2015, and like so many pairs in my collection, they didn't even get a chance to go on display, let alone get taken out to a fashion week event. There's kind of an H.R. Giger aesthetic with this pair - you could definitely get away with some completely avant-garde looks with these, or you could just pair them with a floaty summer maxi dress or a business suit if you'd rather just kick ass in the boardroom. This is definitely a head-turning statement shoe; fortunately, massive platforms are all the way back in style, so there are all kinds of places you could wear these. They're marked size 10, and I'd say they fit true to size. The heel is a towering 6", with a 1.75" platform at the front, so I wouldn't recommend these for anyone who isn't already comfortable with very high heels. Never worn, these are in pristine condition, 10/10.
