***RARE Hand Blown Glass Candle Holders -Black Amethyst- Venetian or Azerbaijan

This is a stunning pair of hand blown art glass candle holders that can either be Venetian glass from Italy or an Azerbaijan work. Whatever, the origin, these pieces certainly showcase explicit details and speak of elegance and quality. These candle holders begin with a round base. The clear glass stem is rounded near the base and textured with thin lines which are pulled up and twisted to give the length a braided rope-like appearance, before rounding out again near the top. A clear glass ruffle with a fine purple line decorate the neck like the collar of a clown. The elongated egg cup receptacle at the top is in solid clear glass twisted like the stem but with bigger spaces. My pictures do not do justice to these little works of art and you need to hold them up to a bright light to see the purple amethyst colour in the black. Both pieces have pontil marks on the bottom.
