@esorfleet hi sorry for the delay! chest lying flat is 20 inches and hips are approximately 21.5 iinches! idd say it's abit stiff but not overly !!!

Hello, this coat is seal fur, it appears that the rip is quite likely due to the pelts having dried out over its age and then stress along a seam line led to an easy tear. Repairing the rip may result in another tear occurring in the same area if the skin side of the fur wasn’t properly stored, got dried out then ripped. Such a gorgeous coat. Might be worth talking to a professional furrier about how the fur can be saved.

Thank you khauri_tompkins for your info. The age of the coat was my major concern, because skins & furs dry out over time unless treated a stored properly (inside cloth bag & cold storage). Once skin/fur is dried/damaged/aged, the garment is very hard to save. What a shame.
