RARE Vintage Irving Posluns tweed single-breasted peacoat
c. 1968–1970*
Gorgeous multicolored tweed has shades of orange, red, brown, black, blue, green, and grey
Diamond pattern woven into the tweed
Pattern is well-matched, indicating excellent tailoring
Has black faux fur insert in collar
Shoulders seem slightly extended to me; may have been intended to slope down a bit
A-line
Side slash pockets
Heavy quilted lining will take you into winter, depending on your location
3-button closure
Was from Posluns' "Junior Deb" line; 23" sleeves best fit teen or petite woman if down to knuckle, regular fit for sleeves that sit at your wrist

Condition: exterior and lining in excellent condition. Some wear to the quilt stuffing (see last pic)

The Posluns family entered the garment trade in Toronto in 1916 with the Superior Cloak Company. They later created the billion$ Dylex, owner of many popular Canadian labels. Irving, born in 1925, designed until his retirement, after which he became a successful portrait photographer. He died in Nov 2020.
