ROYAL NIPPON PLATE C.1900

This item is an antique porcelain tea plate, circa 1900, in the style commonly called 'Royal Nippon'. It has a hand-painted floral pattern with the elements common to the style - full blown roses, small blue and orange flowers, a cluster of purple asters and a tracery of gold between them. The rims are shaded with tan and green, scalloped swoops of dots of white porcelain moriage, and finished with touches of orange-red and a wide band of a deep cobalt blue around the edge. The plate is a little over 7 inches in diameter, and it is in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, scratches, stains, or other damage or defect. Unmarked. Lovely!
