Rare 1940s Frank Starr for Ted Shore Evening Gown

A striking and elegant 1940s evening gown by Frank Starr for Ted Shore, an original piece of Old Hollywood–era couture glamour. This floor-length black gown features delicate spaghetti straps, a heavily sequinned bodice, a softly cinched waist, and a flowing black chiffon skirt with beautiful movement. The skirt is designed with two intentional gathered fabric drapes, each finished with small sewn-in weights—one centered and one slightly off to the side—creating a dramatic, fluid silhouette when worn or in motion.
