Rare 1989 original handcrafted Danny Dennis sterling silver unisex cuff bracelet.
Danny Dennis was a “GITXSAN” Native artist of the Frog Clan, born in 1951 (died 2012). Danny was from the Gitxsan Village of Gitanmaax, British Columbia. Danny’s art reflects the beauty of his homeland, combining his past with his present day experiences.
Danny’s contribution to the renaissance of Northwest Coast Native art began with international distribution in 1979. His art is currently available for viewing at galleries throughout British Columbia and at selected museums and galleries in Germany, the United States and Asia.
This self-taught artist had mentors such as master artists Francis Williams and Robert Davidson who provided inspiration from the beginning of his professional artistic career in 1978.
Danny also carved indigenous materials such as ivory and mastodon. His traditional design work continues to be enjoyed by collectors of finely carved gold and silver jewelry. Unique to Danny’s art are the free-flowing lines capturing the expression of freedom and the infinite possibilities of where a person’s journeys can lead them.
Unlike the commercially produced pieces by Metalsmiths that bear Danny’s name, this is a rare one of a kind piece that he personally handcrafted, it is signed and dated 1989.
A beautiful collector’s piece and the perfect addition to your Pacific Northwest First Nations art collection.
