In 2002, Louis Vuitton collaborated with American artist and director Robert Wilson to create a visually striking line of bags in Fluorescent Fluo Monogram Vernis colours. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis line was first introduced in 1998. In French "vernis" means varnish which explains the shiny and sparkly effect of the bags. It is a monogram embossed coated leather which is like patent leather and has been released in many different colours throughout the years.
