Rare Vintage 40s Nu-Craft Black Leather Clutch

Rare find in such exceptional condition! Early to mid 40s. If Audrey Hepburn were a clutch she would have looked like this bag!😉 Outstanding minimalist lines and in keeping with 1940s fashion which was a mix of wartime practicality and emerging styles, with notable trends including padded shoulders and structured silhouettes of Victory Suits and pantsuits. You just know that’s where the likes of Helmut Lang and Ann Demeulemeester found inspiration. Overall 8.5/10 condition. Original label with company name. Exterior leather with near pristine presentation. Interior heavy black taffeta lining very clean as is the gold piping. Some discoloration on the solid brass zipper. There is wear present around the main snap. Only a very slight must scent. I have smelled worse in some contemporary bags🥴 No mold smell. It is a larger than average clutch. From my own vintage collection it will be shipped in a custom dust bag that I had made for it. Lighting in a few photos makes leather appear faded but it is full, rich black with no fade or damage. * last two photos of another example of an original Nu-craft bag sold at auction for $550.
