Rare Vintage Italian Renaissance Revival Nove Rose Signed Hand-Painted Majolica Castelli Serving Plate This item is a vintage, hand-painted majolica plate from Castelli, Italy, a region of artisans with a long history of ceramic production dating back to the Middle Ages, with its maiolica wares highly sought after by European nobility for centuries. From the Renowned S.C.A.C. Castelli Studio, Italian Floral Plate Signed 9 Inches Diameter Made in Italy Hand Painted Etched Pottery Vintage Collectible Floral Bouquet Decorative Plate. The pattern is distinctive to Italian majolica ceramics, originating from the Nove region of Italy. Vibrant floral design with bright blue border on scalloped rim. Origin: The plate is Italian, specifically from the Castelli manufactory. Material: It is made of maiolica (tin-glazed earthenware) Design: The plate features a distinctive scalloped edge design. Markings: The back is marked with "S.C.A.C. CASTELLI". Item Size: Diameter 9 in Height 2.5 in Condition: Good Condition. 4 minor areas on the outer scalloped lip with no glaze with underlying earthenware material peeking through. It is not known if this is a manufacturing flaw or if this occurred afterwards. These tiny areas are not obviously perceptible. Please see photos.
