Rare Vintage Robert Mayokok Scrimshaw Brooch

Vintage (40s-60s) sled dog scrimshaw brooch by the traditionally taught Inupiat artist Robert Mayokok from Wales, Alaska (1903-1983). He lived a very interesting life and has numerous writings and works published and on display online and in museum collections. I don't know whether or not the material the scrimshaw is on is walrus tusk or bakelite as I am not an expert but it is vintage pre-1970s. Brooch measures 1.6 x 1.25 inches. Cat friendly, nonsmoking home.
