I have never seen this wonderful early sixties eggcup anywhere than in my own home. We bought them at auction in the late 60s or early 70s when Montreal's famed Queen Elizabeth Hotel (home to the bed-in for peace hosted by John and Yoko) was changing its branding, including the wonderful crowned "E" logo on a field of fleur de lys (all in a soft green gray). Although they don't have a maker's mark, I have learned they were made by Syracuse China, makers of dinnerware for restaurants, hotels and railway dining cars for almost 140 years. The eggcups stand 4 inches tall and have a diameter of 2-1/2 inches, with enough depth to hold a drink, when upright and 2 inches, suitable for an egg, when flipped over.
They are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips and little if any fading. II also have a separate listing for two additional eggcups, just a tiny bit shorter.
