🆕Rare vintage hot pink raw silk crossbody purse from Thailand

This is a new, never used rare piece from the 1970's ie before the internationalization of trade. You could only find those in exclusive boutiques and this one was no exception. It was sold in Birks (a fancy store in Montreal). Versatile: bring the cord inside and it makes a hand carried bag. It spent most of its life inside a box on long term storage lost among other boxes of my shipment when I moved internationally in the early 1980's. Got it back recently! Beautiful vertical piqué on the body. Crossbody with double strap of the same material as the body (approximately 18 x2 inches in length). The body measures about 8 by 6.5 inches when flattened. The sides extend to about 2.5 inches. So most cells will fit. Hot pink but hue will vary with light. Fabric is pure Thai silk and it was made in Thailand. Thai silk yarn is usually soft but has a relatively coarse texture with uneven, slightly knotty threads. This quality makes it extremely suitable for weaving by hand. Thai silk has a magnificent, rich, exotic beauty and, with proper care, can last a century or more! Ideal for wedding or special occasion or just to give a luxurious exotic touch to your outfit!
