This antique book is an embossed red hardcover edition with gilt lettering on the cover and spine. It is "The Mill on the Floss" written by George Eliot and published by Ward, Lock & Co Ltd. sometime in the 1910s. It is undated. There are several illustrations by Bertha Newcombe. Mary Ann Evans, known by her pen name George Eliot, was an English novelist, poet, journalist, translator, and one of the leading writers of the Victorian era. Her works are known for their realism, psychological insight, sense of place and detailed depiction of the countryside. This book is in very good condition. There is some wear to the cover and spine. There are a couple of names inside the front cover. The pages have no marks save for some yellowing from age. The binding is sound. Please see all the photos.
