The Merchant is based on traditional work boots from the 1920s, when Red Wing started making boots without toe reinforcement to provide a more comfortable fit without any stress points. The Red Wing 8061 Merchant has a Chemi Gum outsole for excellent grip and outstanding comfort. The Ebony Harness leather has a beautiful, scraped look and a vintage-like appearance due to the amount of oil used during production. The Red Wing 8061 Merchant comes with brown, waxed, flat laces.
