REPAIRS: The leather was seriously dry, especially at the ankle strap that was too brittle for use. A professional cobbler gave these shoes a deep re-conditioning to restore them. After the leather was revitalized by conditioning, a tanner mixed a custom polish colour to re-dye the leather. Other than the ankle strap re-conditioning, these are all cosmetic changes though.

FUNCTIONAL REPAIRS: The vamp was peeling (the area underneath the leather upper, right above your toes). They would be exposed to tears, so we had the cobbler glued and re-sewed them back into place. The original heels were also worn out - so heels were replaced.

We kept the original rubber sole for now (they're that good). If we were aiming for perfection or truly like new, the sole could have been replaced. I've chosen to keep the original sole for a seasons wear and maintain them when they're actually worn out. It's better for shoes' life to only repair as needed.
