Reworked Wool Houndstooth Blanket

I thrifted this wool blend blanket and it had many holes, however I saw potential in the blanket and had the perfect idea to bring life back into it. I spent MANY hours hand embroidering the pink hearts on one side. I love how each embroidered heart turned out, they’re not a perfect shape 🩷 but they’re made with love! On the adjacent side I wanted to hide the thread from the embroidery so I used leftover black jean material and cut out hearts that were slightly larger than the embroidered hearts. I used my trusty sewing machine and did zigzag stitch on the black heart. I love how my upcycle project came out. I’ve had the blanket for year or so and now I want to pass it along. 💕🖤 She’s not a perfect square as you can see in photos as one side slightly tapers in. And one corner there is slight discolouration. Makes me wonder if the previous owner spilled red wine on the blanket or maybe it was die transfer?! Measurements are 63”x76” (tags states differently though 60x84) **The wool doesn’t feel like it’s been shrunk** 50% reclaimed wool 50% unknown fibres
