Ribbon Skirt Toddler Black Red Silver Traditional First Nations Metis Ceremony

Calf-length toddler’s ribbon skirt. Black with red and silver ribbon. Elastic waistband. Homemade. Waist has stretch. Material unknown. Condition: great used condition. Some snags on the ribbon. I do not know who made this beautiful skirt. I found it at my local Value Village. I am not Indigenous, but it was dirty and I thought I should show respect by cleaning it up and finding it a new home. If anyone knows the story that is associated with the pattern and colours of this skirt, please share so I can update this post with the story. It is my hope that this skirt makes it into the home of someone who can respect it and perhaps use it in ceremony, and not use it inappropriately as a costume. Thank you.
