Rivest vintage modernist enamel figure holding flower brooch / pin

Québec was a hotbed of modernist enamel jewelry design in the 1970s. Like their contemporaries de Passillé-Sylvestre, Gaston and Maida Rivest were a husband-and-wife duo who created bold, colourful enamel jewelry. This enamel and silvertone brooch features a modernist figure in white holding a silver flower on a rich red background. The brooch is signed by the artists "Rivest Fait au Québec, Made in Canada" on the reverse. The pin is in very good vintage condition and its C-clasp closure functions perfectly.
