Rosenthal by Bjorn Wiinblad Magic Flute series small white porcelain dish

This exquisitely illustrated bisque relief art piece is by celebrated Danish illustrator and glass, silver, textiles, ceramics designer Bjorn Wiinblad (b. 1918 - d. 2006) who designed it for Rosenthal in the 1960s. This is from The Magic Flute series, 'Die Zauberflöte' which was inspired by Mozarts Opera of the same name. The piece depicts The First Lady ('Die Erste Dame'). Wiinblad's unmistakable style with its romantic, charming and fantastical characteristics is very much evident in this collectable piece. The dish is high quality and collectible, evidenced by the signing of the dish in gold gilding on the underside.
