Ross Parkinson Soapstone Pair of Birds

Pair of soapstone hand-carved birds by Quebec artist / sculptor Ross Parkinson. Beautiful matching pair of birds. The soapstone is such a dark green that it looks almost black. Both pieces are signed by the artist. One bird is 5 in tall by 3 in wide. Other bird is 3.5 in tall by 6 in wide. These are early works. Condition is inline with the age. See photos for details, most noticeably the beaks. Great pieces of Canadian Art. Born in 1958, Ross Parkinson has been a full time sculptor since the age of 17. His works include a large bear that Pierre Trudeau gave to Princess Diana and Prince Charles on their wedding.
