Knud Khyn was a an accomplished Danish painter, draughtsman and ceramic sculptor. My interest in his work lies in his evocative, superbly modelled ceramics.
He worked at Royal Copenhagen over several periods – c1903-1910, c1924-1932 and c1936-1967.
Delve into the elegance of mid-20th-century Danish art pottery with this exquisite Royal Copenhagen collector plate. Crafted in the 1950s by renowned potter Knud Kyhn, this piece showcases a charming duck pattern, accented by a trio of fish and a pin fish, all rendered in a rich brown glaze. The round stoneware plate is a testament to the timeless appeal of mid-century modern design, complete with a glossy finish that highlights its intricate decorative features.
Admired for its production style and technique, this plate is a true example of art pottery from the era. It carries the distinctive printed backstamp of Royal Copenhagen, confirming its authenticity. Designed to be a captivating display piece, it reflects the cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Denmark. Whether for special occasions or everyday enjoyment, this collector plate is a sophisticated addition to any collection.
