Nils Thorsson Vase. Royal Copenhagen Vase. Baca Vase, Faiance Vase. Set of 3.
Circa: 1960s–1970s
These pieces originate from the Aluminia Faience factory and Royal Copenhagen, two Danish ceramic institutions that formally merged in the 20th century.
These factories produced bold geometric and abstract glazes, many designed by Nils Thorsson and related artists during the BACA series.
Set of three:
1. Large yellow + brown bottle-form vase, model 3208, signed/numbered.
2. Rectangular blue-and-white checker motif vase, marked 855/3511.
3. Rectangular brown-and-white abstract motif vase, model 320/325.
Each base bears the Royal Copenhagen/Aluminia hallmark and painter’s monograms.
The pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.
The tallest vase (model 3208) is bottle-shaped with a highly textured surface in earthy yellow and brown tones, featuring bold geometric and floral-inspired motifs.
The second vase (model 320) is a square-form design in a rich brown and cream glaze with a radial sunflower / sunburst-style relief pattern on each side.
The third (model 3556 HL) is also square but uses a cool palette of blue and white with an intricate gridded motif resembling architectural or interlocking tile work.
