Royal Crown Derby Border Collie signed limited edition of 2500 with COA.

This is another excellent piece from Royal Crown Derby from 2004. Titled "Border Collie", this is hand numbered 926 out of 2500 with a special gold backstamp, gold stopper, signed by Hugh Gibson 4-12-2010 and includes its Certificate of Authenticity. It is modelled after a working Border Collie at rest, yet the eyes are what makes this piece - I can just imagine a working dog at rest in the field, yet still watching the sheep and ready to spring into action. Royal Crown Derby launched its first animal paperweights in a range of five birds and a rabbit at Chatsworth House in 1981. The creatures were beautifully sculpted by Robert Jefferson of Poole pottery fame, before being hand-decorated with the firm’s signature Imari pattern and highlighted with 22 carat gold.
