Royal Crown Derby "Dappled Quail" bone china paperweight figurine. This is a version of on of the original 6 birds and rabbit paperweights released in 1981. The dappled quail was released in 2002 and is hand decorated with 22kt gold. It is a first quality piece with the gold stopped and is in excellent condition. Royal Crown Derby launched its first animal paperweights in a range of five birds and a rabbit at Chatsworth House in 1981. The creatures were beautifully sculpted by Robert Jefferson of Poole pottery fame, before being hand-decorated with the firm’s signature Imari pattern and highlighted with 22 carat gold.
